Tipper Detail: MS vs Hardox

Tipper body material is the single biggest cost-and-life decision. Hardox 450/500 weighs less, lasts longer, costs more. Pick wrong and you either overspend or replace the body inside 2 years.

Hardox payload advantage: A Hardox tipper is 200-400 kg lighter than its MS equivalent (depending on body size). That extra payload, multiplied by trip count over the body's life, often recovers the Hardox cost premium within 12-18 months for daily-duty quarry operators. We do the math during the quote stage.
Hydraulic system: Front-end telescopic ram (FEH) or under-body twin ram - choice depends on tipper length, payload and dump angle. Single-cylinder FEH for ≤ 14 ft; twin cylinder for > 14 ft. PTO + pump + tank + valve block + cylinder kit indicative ₹1.2-3.5 L over body cost. We integrate Hyva, Edbro or equivalent OEM systems based on application.

RTO Body-Builder Certificate & CMVR Compliance

Body building in India must comply with Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR) and AIS standards. Without a recognised body-builder certificate, your fitness pass and insurance both fail.

CMVR Rule 93 + AIS-093

Body construction code. Defines structural strength, weight limits, dimensions, lighting, mud flaps, reflective tape, side and rear under-run protection.

Body Builder Code

Each builder has a recognised code stamped on the body and listed in the registration. RTO matches this with the body-builder certificate at fitness time.

Side & Rear Under-Run

Mandatory protection bars to prevent cars / two-wheelers riding under the truck. Specific dimensions per CMVR. Refusal to fit = automatic fitness fail.

Reflective Tape (AIS-090)

High-intensity prismatic reflective tape on rear (red), sides (yellow / white) and front (white). Specific coverage % requirements.

Speed Limiter Device (SLD)

Mandatory on most commercial vehicles per CMVR Rule 118. Capped at 80 km/h (60 km/h for hazardous goods). We coordinate fitment and certification.

Vehicle Location Tracking (AIS-140)

Mandatory GPS-based VLT + panic button on commercial passenger and certain goods vehicles. We coordinate AIS-140 device fitment.
