India's CPCB Environment Protection Rules cap diesel DG noise at 75 dB(A) measured at 1 metre from enclosure surface. State PCBs may impose additional ambient noise limits at the property boundary (residential 55 dB day / 45 dB night). If your canopy is older or damaged, you can be in violation without knowing it.

Sound levels are measured 1 m away from the enclosure surface with the DG running at full load. Ambient site conditions, reflective surfaces and engine condition can move the reading 2-4 dB either way. Independent third-party sound-level testing is available on request.

Ventilation Diagnosis: Why DGs Overheat in Canopies
A diesel genset throws off 1.5-2× its electrical output as heat. Insufficient airflow is the #1 cause of canopy-related derates and engine alarms.

- • Calculate required CFM (engine spec + 1.5 safety factor)
- • Resize / add louvers if airflow short by > 20%
- • Add exhaust fan if natural draft insufficient

- • Re-route hot air outlet away from inlet (anti-recirculation)

Paint & Cosmetic Refurb Scope
Don't wait for the paint to fail completely. A periodic refurb cycle adds 5-7 years to the canopy and keeps the asset looking respectable.

Powder-coat finish has 7-10 year life vs. 3-5 years for site-applied PU. We recommend powder-coat for industrial DGs running outdoors in RIICO / coastal / chemical zones.

Strip + Inspect
Remove all panels and internal lining. Document corrosion, sheet thickness, frame condition. Photographic record.
Structural Rebuild
Replace bad panels, weld frame, fresh hinges + locks, AVM mount set, drainage and roof seal.
Acoustic + Paint
Fresh wool + perforated liner + tiger cloth. Powder-coat finish OR strip + 3-coat PU. Customer branding optional.
Test & Deliver
